SKY SAILOR 9 September | October 2019 and sharing the air. Not everyone made goal, but all landed safely and came in with a grin. There were some great tales of adventure over the barbecue that night, some of them even true. Day two saw the scooter tow out for some early morning training and landing drills in the smoke filled sky due to a nearby fire. The smoke and then rain grounded us briefly, so we took the opportunity to hear a talk on radios by our local guru Peter Lissenburg. After being entertained by some experimental supine flying off the scooter tow we had a spot landing comp, with everyone giving it a go in front of the cameras, and a few pilots nailing it. Day three started with early morning practice tows, followed by free-flying in improving condi- tions. We had lunchtime thermalling and another XC for those who could stay later. A huge thank you to Peter Holloway of Freedom Airsports and all those involved within the club who helped shape the weekend so well. It was safe, fun and full of learning. I have a feeling we’ll be doing this again next year! Pete Cass getting some early morning tow practice The day's task Goal at Neale's place Local retreive dog. Lookout! Setting up for the day
