8 SKY SAILOR September | October 2019 T his low-stress social aero-towing event was designed to provide both, challenging flying for experienced pilots and a coaching experience for those new to cross-country flying. The fore- cast for day one was excellent, so a basic 30km triangle task was set, with a more challenging 100km version for the guns. To maximise coaching opportunities, all pilots flew out on the same first leg and on the same radio channel, keeping chatter to a minimum to allow more questions and answers. This worked brilliantly. With two tugs on the go, everyone got into the air quickly and we could fly as a team to help each other along the way.
