Practice day: 4 April. Requirements: Int/ Adv rating with aerotow endorsement, current SAFA membership (Temporary membership for overseas pilots), experience in XC aerotow in thermic conditions, GPS (incl. download cables), VHF Radio Operators License and VHF radio. Entry fee: $600, incl. the famous Dalby Big Air T-shirt, presentation dinner and all aerotow fees for comp and practice day. Competition places are capped at 60 pilots, so get in early! HG pilots are invited to the 28th Flatter than the Flatlands XC towing competition. The event will be conducted over the four- day Easter long weekend. This SAFA C sanction comp promotes skills and safety and is a great way for novices (PG2/3) to get into competition and XC flying in a fun and safe way. The comp is based on ‘Flying Crews’ (5 pilot teams, 1 PG5, 2 PG2/3 plus 2 other pilots) – so get your crew together. Handicapping is used for scoring. Registration is open. Fee: Register before 27/3/20 for early bird fee of $20. Register after 27/3/20 and fee is $30. Payment secures place in competition.
