10 SKY SAILOR November | December 2020 Lake St Clair Hike & Fly by Roger Stanford This was now my third ascent of the vertical rock scramble section of the Hike & Fly. I’d gone back to take other pilots’ equipment and help on their ascent. I tried to grab Brian’s gear, but the Northern Englishman refused my help stating, “I never thought I would be able to do a Hike & Fly like this at 80, I want to get to the top on my own.” This reinforced my belief that paragliding, and all that do it, are fantastic and you can spend a full lifetime chasing dreams.
