SKY SAILOR 25 May | June 2018 nothing but nature powering me. Mark’s words to Steph nailed the feeling, “This is the closest you’ll get to heaven on earth. This is why birds sing.” I could not agree more. After another three to four hours in the air, it was time to land in front of the hotel. Expert guidance by Chris to land on an airstrip as big as my back lawn (and I have a small back lawn) – just amazing. It was so worth returning to Bali to be able to experience all of this. Skilled and experienced, their Bali tours offer something for everybody. I grew as a pilot, learned new skills, clocked many hours and experienced joy doing so. Steph and I left Bali knowing we were part of a family that only had our best interest at heart. I would like to thank Chris for his humour and guidance, Geoff for his patience and calm manner in dealing with situations, Steve for keeping an eye on everybody and making sure we were all flying. Last, but not least, I would like to thank Mark. Mark is not a man, he is a giant. Not just his physical appearance, but also his heart, his actions and his experiences. He always goes the extra mile to help, to guide, to teach and to make sure that all his ‘children’ are living their dreams. Bali with Cloudbase Paragliding will be a standing arrangement for us. After all, this is where dreams come true, only you are awake while experiencing the beauty.
