26 SKY SAILOR January | February 2020 T he weather held up for our latest course at Strathalbyn, SA. Checking the weather forecast prior to travelling, it could have been hot or cold, but even though we arrived in Adelaide to high temperatures, it luckily cooled significantly for the weekend. Thanks to the Southern Districts Flying Club yet again for allowing us the use of their clubrooms to hold the course. Congratulations to our eight attendees, who consisted of just one weightshift owner this time, one GA owner (LAME maintained aircraft), the GFA President and several RAAus 3-axis pilots. Some of the attendees had quite extensive knowledge and others were complete beginners with regards to aircraft maintenance. We fielded some really good questions during the course this time, which was interesting and sometimes entertaining. Larry (Adelaide Airsports CFI) was once again invaluable to the smooth running of the course and had everything ready and available for our use. His workbench enables our attendees to practice their wirelocking easily, with Kev on hand to give advice and tips. Some of the beginners did a really good job on their first attempt. We already have a waiting list for the next course to be held at Strathalbyn, SA.
